Natural process drawings

trave

Below are a number of experimental drawings I have captured by harnessing and capturing natural forces to create drawings. These drawings were produced by attaching pencils and pieces of charcoal to tree branches, placing drawing paper underneath the branch and allowing the wind to blow the branch and record the mark of the natural movement of the branch. These drawings were produced using the same guide lines I have been following with my other drawings. Working in the same vein as John Cage and his use of ‘chance’ or ‘indeterminacy’ I set the parameters by which a drawing will be produced whilst enabling the action of ‘chance’ or ‘indeterminacy’ to produce the drawing.
